About the Position
Rhode Island Hospital, part of Brown University Health, is seeking an experienced Lead CT Tech to oversee advanced CT imaging procedures and manage department workflow. Under the general supervision of the CT Scan Manager, this position requires minimal technical supervision and involves performing complex radiologic imaging, mentoring students and staff, and ensuring the efficient operation of the CT department.
This is a full-time, day shift opportunity, perfect for highly skilled technologists looking to lead in a dynamic hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex CT scan procedures, including 2D, 3D, 4D, MIP, VR, SSD imaging
- Provide on-the-job training to radiology students and staff, guiding them in advanced imaging techniques
- Assist radiologists in special procedures, including biopsies, drainages, and ablations (Cryogenic, RF, Microwave)
- Maintain department workflow and efficiently assign staff to maximize patient throughput
- Ensure compliance with ALARA principles for radiation protection and safety
- Monitor and maintain imaging equipment, reporting repairs as needed
- Perform administrative tasks such as inventory control, compiling statistics, and quality assurance documentation
- Foster patient-centered care by ensuring comfort and safety during procedures

Requirements
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and in good standing
- Valid Rhode Island state radiation license and CT supplemental license from the Department of Health
- Current CPR certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Minimum one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, plus one year of specialized CT training
- Ability to operate CT imaging equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality imaging
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, and positioning of patients in a hospital CT Scan department. Exposure to radiation is minimized by following strict safety protocols and protective measures.
