About the Position

Rhode Island Hospital, part of Brown University Health, is seeking a skilled Lead CT Tech to join our imaging team on the night shift. This role requires a highly experienced CT Technologist to perform complex imaging procedures, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality patient care.

Under the supervision of the CT Scan Manager, the Lead CT Tech will be responsible for the performance of CT Scan procedures in a satellite unit or a setting requiring advanced imaging techniques. The role also includes mentoring radiology students, providing technical oversight, and handling administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow.

This full-time, night shift opportunity is ideal for technologists who excel in independent, high-volume hospital environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and advanced CT imaging, including 2D, 3D, 4D, MIP, VR, SSD images
  • Supervise and guide radiology students and new employees in clinical procedures
  • Assist radiologists with biopsies, drainages, and ablations (Cryogenic, RF, Microwave)
  • Maintain department workflow and effectively assign staff for maximum efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with ALARA principles and proper use of radiation protection
  • Monitor and maintain CT imaging equipment, reporting necessary repairs
  • Perform administrative duties such as inventory management, quality control, and compiling statistics
  • Provide staff training and education on imaging procedures and safety standards

Requirements

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and in good standing
  • Valid Rhode Island state radiation license and CT supplemental license from the Department of Health
  • Current CPR certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers)
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, plus one year of specialized CT training
  • Ability to operate all types of CT imaging equipment, position patients, and ensure diagnostic-quality imaging
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to oversee imaging procedures and interact with healthcare teams

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and positioning patients in a hospital CT Scan department. Exposure to radiation is minimized by strict adherence to safety protocols and protective measures.
