📸 What You'll Do
- Operate MRI unit and related equipment to produce MR images of designated anatomical areas.
- Collect and complete records on patient data and equipment operation.
- Provide assistance to patients and radiologists, solving minor equipment problems.
- Perform calibration tests and quality control functions on equipment.
- Screen all patients, visitors, and non-MRI personnel prior to entry into MRI zones.
- Select proper technical factors and manipulate parameters on an individual patient basis.
- Verify and obtain informed consent for examinations requiring consent.
- Position patients for imaging to obtain satisfactory examinations and perform requested procedures.
- Assist radiologists to implement new protocols and participate in in-service education programs.
Qualifications
- Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
- MRI certification through the ARRT (new grads may obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Current BLS Certification from AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- Six months recent experience as an MRI Technologist or successful completion of an accredited MRI program with a minimum of 1200 clinical hours completed.
- Appropriate interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to lift and move patients to and from scanner table, transport patients in wheelchairs and/or stretchers.
