📸 What You'll Do

  • Review and record pertinent history and clinical data for optimal diagnostic results.
  • Position and instruct patients to achieve desired diagnostic outcomes.
  • Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment and record data.
  • Assist physicians in procedures such as localizations, biopsies, and aspirations.
  • Assemble and present information and films to physicians for interpretation.
  • Review orders for appropriateness and contact referring doctors with questions.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area, submitting maintenance requests as needed.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Provide clinical experience and instruction to diagnostic medical sonography students.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • One year of formal training in an accredited School of Ultrasound or four years of experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
  • Current CPR certification from AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
  • Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and position patients correctly.
  • Analytical skills to determine the best method for obtaining desired results.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively deal with patients and staff.
  • ARDMS certification is required.
  • Knowledge and skills to provide care with consideration of aging processes and cultural patterns.
