📸 What You'll Do

  • Operate CT scanner and related equipment to produce radiographs of designated anatomical areas.
  • Check and test calibration of equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Position patients and equipment, and select appropriate scan settings.
  • Collect and complete computerized and manual records on patient data.
  • Screen patients for proper diet preparation and potential sensitivities.
  • Prepare and administer contrast medium and saline to patients.
  • Monitor patients and equipment during the scan process for any changes in condition.
  • Perform specialized non-routine computer functions to assist in diagnosis.
  • Analyze equipment problems and perform minor repairs and adjustments.
  • Provide in-service education for students and staff technologists.

Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).
  • Current CPR certification from AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
  • RI state radiation license and CT supplemental license from the DOH.
  • Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Six months' experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department.
  • In-depth knowledge of diagnostic radiologic procedures and computerized tomographic equipment.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively interface with patients, families, and staff.
