📸 What You'll Do

  • Operate CT scanner and related equipment to produce radiographs of designated anatomical areas.
  • Check and test calibration of equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Position patients and equipment, selecting appropriate scan parameters.
  • Collect and complete computerized and manual records on patient data.
  • Screen patients for proper diet preparation and potential adverse reactions.
  • Administer contrast medium and monitor patients during scan processes.
  • Perform specialized non-routine computer functions to assist in diagnosis.
  • Analyze equipment problems and arrange for repairs as needed.
  • Provide in-service education for students and staff technologists.
  • Remain proficient in special procedures such as biopsy and ablations.

Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).
  • Current CPR certification from AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
  • RI state radiation license and CT supplemental license from the DOH.
  • Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Six months experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department.
  • In-depth knowledge of diagnostic radiologic procedures and CT equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interactions.
